Meet the Author: Jeanna Kunce

I know some of the neatest people.  I truly do and  I’d like to introduce you to one of them.  Meet Jeanna Kunce.  She’s a funny and creative mom of two active and imaginative kids.  She’s an author; her husband is an illustrator.  Convenient don’t you think? She is the author of “Darien and the Lost Paints of Telinoria” and “Darien and the Seed of Obreget” as well as her newest book, Hope’s Melody.  She shares a little more about Hope’s Melody below.  We very much enjoyed this adorable book as a read a loud at bedtime.  My kids...

Pantry Challenge

How often do you go to the grocery store?  How much food gets wasted because you never eat it and then throw it away?  How much food do you have sitting in your fridge, freezer, cupboards, and pantry that you just never really seem to use? For us, we go to the grocery store all too often.  It’s not uncommon to head to the store multiple times a week or at the spur of the moment to figure out “What’s for supper?” We try to do well with leftovers, but it varies.  Some things get gobbled up and others...

Eat Pie – All. Day. Long.

Let’s do a little twist on Pi day….and make it Pie Day. Okay, the math stuff:  According to piday.org, “Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Now...

Creative Writing

Creative writing is an excellent and easy way to allow ourselves and kids to explore our imaginations.  I think it is extremely important to let kids (and grown-ups) just write and doodle, without expectation.  Writing needs to be an outlet of expression and communication.  And often.  So much of what we are required to do in our daily lives is already pre-determined for us.  The “hows” and the “whys” are so structured.  We need a release.  Creative writing is an opportunity to do just that.  And the best part is, is that creative writing can be super easy and...

the Rainbow Radish is 1!

It’s the Rainbow Radish’s Birthday! Our blog is one year old! The world didn’t quite know about us just yet.  It would still be months before the publish button was clicked and actually “released” into the cyber world. However, it was one year ago, February 29, 2016, that the Rainbow Radish was officially created.  The fact that I chose leap day was no coincidence.  I took a leap.  A big one. Creating a blog was very exciting and scary.  I wanted to share with others.  I wanted to provide opportunities to moms and families to be together, have fun,...
