These are SO MUCH fun to make and even more fun to give away. Everyone gets so excited to receive such a fun treat. Wait til you see how EASY they are to make and they are way cheaper to make than to buy. Check out this video to see just how easy it is.

You can make these simple or elaborate. You could also make this out of the same type of candy bars or even granola or protein bars. It takes me about 20 minutes or so to make a bouquet like this. Affiliate links are listed at the end, if you wish to use them.

You need: A container – ideas include

  • mugs
  • boxes
  • empty frosting containers
  • jars
  • little baskets

Get creative; a lot of things will work. You can get clever basing the container around something the recipient likes to do, so they’ll be able to keep that as a gift too, or you can make it out something clean, reused, and completely recyclable.

You also need: something to hold the skewers in place – ideas might be

  • Floral foam
  • putty or play dough
  • rocks or marbles
  • pool noodle ?? .. haven’t tried it, but curious, hmmm

Then you’ll need:

  • Candy, it is a candy bouquet after all – but seriously can’t you see this working for just about anything? I tend to like the fun size candy bars and packs, you could mix it up and throw some bite size ones in there too. Or just use a few full sized bars and you’ll be done even faster.
  • Skewers or sticks, anything steady and that can be made to different lengths, if you wish.
  • Tape, I prefer packing tape. You could probably use hot glue, as long as you didn’t melt the candy.
  • Decorations, you might add curling ribbon, tissue paper, shredded paper, a sign or a card.

Now that you have your supplies, here are your fancy directions – the video above shows the whole process too.

Prep your container, if needed – maybe you’ll wrap it, then add floral foam into it. No real rules here, the foam doesn’t have to consume the entire container, but it does need to take up enough of the container and be high enough for all the skewers to sit in it without tipping over. (You’ll have to balance your candy around too.)

Tape the skewers to the back of each piece of candy. Depending on how big your container is and size of your candy, you might use around 20 pieces for the bouquet. I tend to use 3 or 4 of each kind of candy.

Then start arranging. I typically start with a “back row” keeping the skewers full length. Put some at slants, some straight up. Then as I move “forward” I trim a bit of length off the wooden skewer.

To finish it all you can add decor, a sign (download below) or tissue paper. The easiest way to add tissue paper around it is, to slide the whole ‘foam-skewer-candy’ bundle out, put the tissue under it and around it, then slide everything back in.

You can buy candy in large mixed bags or if you don’t need much you can buy those sleeves that have 8 or so bars in them.

I know anyone you give this to will be super excited. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments and I’d love to see what you make.

You’re welcome to print the sign I used or grab some markers and make your own! I print it on card stock to make it a bit sturdier, but it is okay, if you don’t.

Here are some Amazon affiliate links and notes on where else you can find the items.

Bamboo Skewers I tend to use 12″, but you could get a variety of lengths. You should be able to find this at the grocery store for a few dollars or at the Dollar Store; they are typically used for kabobs.

Packing Tape

Floral Foam I was able to find some at the Dollar Store. I get my tissue paper there too.

Candy – I grab the mixed bag from Sam’s Club or the sleeves of snack size from the grocery store. …but whoa, wouldn’t this be some fun and colorful treats to include? Sweet and Sour pack or Hershey Pack and don’t forget the M&Ms.
