Becoming a Mompreneur Part 3

In case you missed Part 1 or Part 2 of “Becoming a Mompreneur”.

All righty, so there I was in Boise.  I arrived about 11pm, called the shuttle to the hotel – this really cool trendy, modern-retro hotel called Hotel 43, got there and got myself situated for next day to begin. I. was. doing. this.

I only had to walk about a block across a really neat courtyard to get to the event at the Boise Centre.  Besides the elevator almost knocking me over taking me out , I made it there safely.  Boise is apparently a very safe city.

Offermind as far as “location” was very clearly labeled.  Printed and digital signs easily seen and Stephen Larsen had even done a video prior to the event showing everyone where to go when they got there.  (Which for an Emerald/Green personality like me, is very beneficial and comforting. Hear my podcast episode on color personalities.)

When I arrived on the 4th floor (there was no 3rd floor ???), I was greeted with an energy and vibrancy that all events should be required to have.  The staff was super friendly, welcoming, and enthusiastic.  Okay, we were off to a great start.  The registration guy even told me I didn’t have a very strong Midwest accent…it wasn’t meant an insult or a compliment, but duh – makes sense because Wisconsin folks don’t have an accent – it’s the rest of the country.  (wink)

I note this stuff about the atmosphere because it does matter.  It gets your brain set up to move and be open.  It gets you set up, revved up.  The music, the stage, the setup it matters.  Not everyone may notice …or at least not realize they do.  I pay attention to detail and appreciate it. It makes me want to be there.

Besides my physical surroundings I was in a room filled with people that most would consider very successful entrepreneurs.  At one point, it was asked how much money they had made in a single sales funnel.  There were tons of hands that went up for a million dollars or more.  When we were working on goals, people were standing up and stating how they were driven to make a million dollars within the next year on their products or services.  Whew okay.  Feasible, sure.  Me – I was sitting there thinking I want to make a $5000 a month.  (That’s a bit shy of a million, but it’ll be a starting point.)  Seriously, though – I didn’t feel inferior.  I wasn’t made to feel that just because I hadn’t done it YET, that I was inadequate.  That is why I was there right?  To learn.  To grow.

1. The camera on my phone is not great. and
2. SJL moves around a lot. All of my pictures are blurry.

The speakers at Offermind were HUGE in the field on online marketing.  Might as well learn from some of the best.  Might. as. well.  Besides learning from Stephen Larsen himself, we heard from Russell Brunson, Myron Golden (oh my! He was out of this world motivating.), Dana Derricks (also from Wisconsin, so bonus for him.), and Brad Gibb.

I am pretty sure that Mr. Larsen will be asking me to speak next year on all the progress I will be making this year…and I am pretty sure I will say yes. Pretty sure, yep. All right, there was so much information that was shared over those two days. I have 42 pages of notes!!, but I have slimmed it down:

My top 10 11 take aways from Offermind

for me, our business, and our family.

(in no particular order, with the exception of number 1)

11. It’s NOW o’clock.

10. Instead of studying ways on how to save money, study how to make money.  Don’t live below your means; increase your means.

9. Set the goal and unapologetically move towards it.

8. You are not aiming to sell to everyone.  Decide on your dream customer dynamics and set out to be the best you can be for them. / Choose a problem you will dedicate your whole business to.

7. Those that control the content.  Control the belief.

6. Even though we focus on the immediate buyers, most people are not going to buy right away.  Don’t lose track of them.

5. Everything you think you know about money is wrong.

4. My business only grows if I do. AND I am my own worst enemy.

3. Your beliefs create your life.  “You just lost the instructions to your superpowers.”  Myron Golden

2. Core product + Value = Offer

1. “I don’t lose.  I learn.  There is no such thing as failure.”  Stephen Larsen

I think that is a pretty appropriate ending to this post, don’t you? Have questions? Please reach out and ask. I’ll share my thoughts and opinions.
